Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career shortly after enrolling at Stanford University. Early successes in her acting career included films such as Pleasantville and Election however, her performance in the film Elle Woods was the turning point for her. Witherspoon was honored with an Academy Award, in 2005 for her performance in Walk the Line. Water for Elephants, This Means War, and Wild are among her latest films.
