April Ross

April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball stars who have managed to win medals in multiple Olympics. Ross is scheduled to compete in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic medal, along with Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. But more than that, Ross hopes to win her first Olympic gold. It could be Ross' final chance to take home an Olympic gold. She's still feeling confident nevertheless. Ross stated to NBC Boston that he believes If they can play at their absolute top, or even one of their best games, we'll be in the running for gold. Also, I am going attempt to get fortunate. Ross was born in 1982 in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a sister. In Newport Harbor High School, she participated in various athletics. As a student-athlete she also participated in indoor track and volleyball. She was definitely the top player in indoor volleyball. As a college volleyball years, according to her college information, she played as middle blocker, an outside hitter, and setter. For her efforts she was named an 1999 Gatorade International Player of the year in Circle of Champions. Also, she won the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman are working together as of 2017. But, Ross was already a respected athlete in the volleyball world prior to they formed the team. She was a winner of several major championships while playing with two partners. One of which is a volleyball icon. She partnered up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, as well as serving as the Klineman's assistant and Kessy's coach. Together together with Kessy Ross, she won a World Title in 2009 while competing on the international circuit. In 2012, the pair were awarded silver medals at the London Olympic Games. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor took home gold beating them to it. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor retired. In 2016, the duo won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Following high school, and for a few several years prior to hitting the sand as a pro Ross made her debut for the Trojans at USC while an collegiate. The time she spent through the institution was one to remember. In 2000 she was recognized as Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman of the Year. In addition, she was an All-American. In 2000, her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. In her sophomore season, she went through a heartbreaking personal tragedy, but was recognized as an All-American. In her last two years, she took the Trojans to the top of the hill to win consecutive national titles. She had established herself as a legendary player by winning in 2003 and 2004 the Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was a student of the study of international relations in USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch her daughter become an international beach volleyball star. At the time of 2001, while Ross was a sophomore on the campus of USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. Ross holds her mother close to her heart. Margie remains an inspiration at the beach as well as throughout her entire life.
