Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman from the United States. Her current position is that as president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the owner of the National Basketball Association. Buss is a California native who grew in a well-off family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon before becoming the proprietor of Lakers as well as other companies. Her parents divorced in 1972. separated together and she felt left out. Her family's business was started in the age of 19 and became the general manager of the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. The team was later renamed an organization called the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. She was director of the Great Western Forum before assuming the duties of the vice-president of the Lakers. Her father died in 2013, and the control of the Lakers was transferred to Buss and her five siblings by a trust of the family that gave each sibling equal voting rights. Buss was elected in 2013 to take control of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is the owner of Women of Wrestling in Los Angeles, an organization that encourages professional wrestling.
